COUNCIL NEWS ON RE-OPENING
Dear Covenant Church Family
At this time, our services are still being pre-recorded, and will continue to be until we are able to move to live-streaming, which is when the services will be recorded and sent in "real-time" via the internet and dial in telephone from our church each Sunday morning.
This week we heard with grateful hearts that we have not had any new cases of COVID-19 for two weeks here in Woodstock and Oxford County, and Covenant Council feels this brings forward the opportunity for us to gather for worship.
However, our gatherings must still be done in a thoughtful and careful manner and our Sunday services cannot "go back to the way they used to be" before this whole pandemic began.
If the COVID-19 cases in our area remain low, we hope to have our church open Sunday morning, 19 July, for those who would like to view the pre recorded service together in the sanctuary.
Prevention measures will be in place, -such as limiting the number of people to 30% occupancy, screening review, sign in, use of hand sanitizer, practicing distancing both in the sanctuary and other areas of the church and property. Use of masks is encouraged and will be available.
We also know that prevention includes our care and concern for those who have underlying health issues and other issues that make them vulnerable in gatherings and we encourage and support those in our fellowship who continue to practice necessary isolation measures.
As we prepare to take these first small steps towards gathering for worship and fellowship, we pray for God's guiding Hand- for continued health and wellness, and for discernment and patience- that each of us will experience Christian love and fellowship (in safety), whether in person or by other means.
